Born in 1988, Ismael Tamek, a talented Ivoirian Togolese artist, began his artistic journey in 2012. He explores the complexities of human life through bold brushstrokes and a distinctive neo-expressionist style. His artworks are a vibrant fusion of texture and narrative, shaped by immersive techniques such as sanding, scraping, washing, and collage. Embracing the elements of nature and inspired by the challenges of those around him, Tamek's paintings reflect resilience and hope amidst adversity. His work, since his debut exhibition in 2014, has been exhibited across Africa, including in Ghana, Morocco, Rwanda, Senegal, and Côte d'Ivoire.
